Final vote on LB 1 (the dump law/safe haven law)

Y-43 (kids up through big kids dumps) - N-5 (little kids dumps), 1 ab.

The bill was on Governor Heineman's desk by 9:28am central time.

from- Infant-only safe haven law OK'd

State Sen. Lowen Kruse of Omaha, a United Methodist pastor, summed it up in the Legislature's morning prayer.

"Gracious God, we have done what we said we would do and prepare for more," he said. " We pray it will be a blessing to our children and to our neighborhoods."
